FarePlay uses GPS location data to enable on-course delivery and to show your position and our beverage carts on the course map.
When we collect it. For golfers, location is collected while you are actively using the app and while you have an active order in progress — including when the app is in the background — so a cart can find you. Collection stops once your order is complete or cancelled. For venue staff operating a beverage cart, location is collected while they are on shift so golfers can see the cart on the map.
Location history. In addition to your current position, we store a history of your location points (latitude, longitude, accuracy, and timestamp) tied to your rounds and orders. We use this history to operate and improve the Service — for example, delivery routing and timing, identifying course bottlenecks, and operational analytics for venues. Location history is accessible only to FarePlay and to authorized staff of the venue where the activity occurred; it is never sold.
Your choices. You can disable location services in your device settings at any time, but this will prevent you from placing orders through the app. You can also request deletion of your stored location history at any time from Settings → Privacy in the app; we process these deletion requests within 24 hours. Deleting your location history does not affect order records we are required to retain for tax, accounting, or legal purposes.
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest, secure payment processing through Stripe, and access controls for our systems.
While we take reasonable precautions to protect your data, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. We may also retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as resolving disputes and enforcing agreements.
